Why Light and Learn?
The first five years of a child’s life are filled with more growth and change than any other time. These early years bring rapid development, exciting milestones, and deep connections with the people closest to the child. While this time is full of joy and curiosity, it also comes with its fair share of challenges.
Whether you're a parent of a young child or an educator, your role is vital. We all need encouragement, support, information—and most importantly, to know we’re not alone. Together, we can be a light for one another on this journey.

Meet Wendy
Meet Wendy Carter, Founder of Light and Learn, LLC
Wendy Carter brings over 30 years of experience as an educator in a wide range of roles, including early childhood teacher, parent educator, coordinator, trainer, manager, coach—and always, a fellow learner.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, with specialties in Early Childhood and Parent Education, and is licensed to teach in these areas in the state of Minnesota.
Wendy’s passion for this work began with a deep love for children. Over time, that love grew into a strong desire to support the parents, caregivers, and educators who nurture and guide our youngest learners. Her mission is to be a trusted resource for those raising and teaching children during their most formative years.

Parent Education Classes
I offer virtual parent education classes via Zoom, with each series tailored to a specific topic that provides focused support and practical tools for your parenting journey.
In-person classes are also available for organizations within an hour of the Bemidji, MN area.

Individual Coaching
I offer individual caregiver coaching sessions in 30-minute increments. As a trained coach, I provide compassionate listening, thoughtful questions, and helpful resources when appropriate.
These sessions are not therapy, but educational coaching designed to help you reflect, identify your needs, and explore possible solutions.

Early Childhood Educator Training & Coaching
I would love to partner with you to provide in-person or virtual training for early childhood educators. I am approved to offer more than 25 courses that are DEVELOP-approved for early childhood professionals. If you’re interested in scheduling a training session, please feel free to reach out directly.
I provide relationship-based instructional coaching to support early childhood educators. Coaching sessions can be offered individually or in groups and are tailored to your needs—whether that’s curriculum, assessment, addressing challenging behaviors, preventing educator burnout, strengthening family engagement, or other areas of focus.
